Perhaps it was instilled by my mother who I witnessed drawing in the margins of her magazines. I can recall playing drawing games with her as a young child … she’d scribble a line on a page and challenge me to create something recognizable from it. In elementary school I was asked to be my art teacher’s assistant (I thought she was magical). I happily agreed to come to school early each morning to mix her paints and sort her supplies. As an adult, I became an art educator in the public schools and in the community.</span></strong></div><strong><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;color:#333399;"></span></strong><br /><strong><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;color:#333399;"><div align="left"><span style="font-size:130%;">Today I'm a full time painter and sculptor working daily in my studio. I paint predominantly in acrylic and my sculpture medium is steel. I show work in a variety of juried shows, exhibitions, galleries and in my own studio/gallery. </span></div><div align="left"><span style="font-size:130%;"></span></div><div align="left"><br /><span style="font-size:130%;">To my thinking, creating art is a way of communicating in a language beyond words. It doesn’t matter whether the subject is realistic, abstract, or nonrepresentational. It’s like saying to the viewer ‘I have a visual message for you’.
